Getting around Marrakech: taxis, walking, buses and transfers

The medina is made for walking, Gueliz is easy to reach, and airport arrivals depend on a clear drop-off point.

Inside the medina: walk

For central souks and monuments, walking is the most logical option. Keep an offline map and a few landmarks.

02

Taxi between districts

To reach Gueliz, Hivernage, Majorelle or a distant restaurant, taxis are often easiest. Clarify fare or meter use before departure depending on the situation.

03

Airport and excursions

For a first arrival with luggage or a very early departure, an organised transfer reduces uncertainty. For excursions, use an identified vehicle and written timing.

Frequently asked questions

Should I rent a car?

Not for visiting the medina. A car is mainly useful for selected journeys outside Marrakech.
